The 8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion will take place from 26 – 30 September 2022 in Milan, Italy. The WCPEC-8 combines the three most prominent international PV conferences: the European PV Solar Energy Conference (39th EU PVSEC), the Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (IEEE PVSC-50) and the International PV Science and Engineering Conference (PVSEC-32). Held every four years, the WCPEC offers a unique possibility of international exchange in various PV sectors.

HIPERION will be represented at this major event through several activities and by several partners.

The HIPERION Coordinator, Jacques Levrat (CSEM), will give an oral presentation about the HIPERION project under the title “Design and fabrication of ultra-high efficiency hybrid solar modules based on CPV microtracking system”. This presentation is planned on Wednesday, 28 September 2022.

Furthermore, the HIPERION project has gathered forces with three other Horizon 2020 projects, i.e., HighLite, GoPV, and SUPER PV, to organise a joined booth at the WCPEC-8 exhibition. Visitors will be invited to have a close look at the innovative HIPERION hybrid module that will be showcased at the stand, as well as to exchange ideas with the consortium partners who will attend the booth.

Finally, HIPERION and the three abovementioned Horizon 2020 projects are also organising a joint side event at the conference. The event, entitled “H2020 EU Funded Projects Helping to Raise the Competitiveness of the EU PV Industry”, will be held on 29 September at 17:00-18:30. This event consists of a 10 min overview of the main results obtained for each project and it is followed by a 30 min panel discussion with representatives from the European Union and leading PV industry associations on the next steps needed to further raise the EU PV industry competitiveness.
